How to reconnect gear selector cables?

Hi,

I've just replaced the main fear selector bearing and refitted the selectors ( thanks to Stampi for the great "how to" on here).

The question is, how are you supposed to refit the flipping cables?! The top one went on after a bit of a hammer tap but how do you reconnect the one tucked away on the side?

Any suggestions greatfully received?
