U1262 could be PATS related. It is a communications problem between pcm and other modules.

What does your immobiliser light do when you put th ekey into the ignition lock and try to start the van.
mk7 08reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD
mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

Right, so it seems the key is recognised by the ecu but it might not be able to tell the fuel pump to work.

Can the code reader give you live data ?

What rpm do you get on the code reader when cranking the starter ?
If you get a steady rpm value then the crank sensor is probably ok.

I would say to start with a compression test . If compression ok than it would eliminate valve/pistons and alignament issues .
Once compression ok than spray a bit of "easy start" in the turbo intercooler pipe that goes to the inlet side while trying to fire up the engine . It could do a few backfiring bangs but keep at it until it fires up.
Now ...if engine is running for a few seconds on easy start and stops once you stop the spray than you must have air in the fuel lines more likely .
Crack open slightly one of the injector pipes to see if fuel is squirting out .
If it doesn't fire up at all than make sure the crankshaft sensor is inserted deep enough (pushed in all the way than pull back a touch so it doesn't touches the flywheel) and tighten it up .

Basicaly if compression /fuel/timing ok it should be firing up .Just make sure everything electrical is pluged back properly .
You mentioned replacing the rockers only but did you check the cam carier for cracks or losse bolts where the rocker shaft is bolted down (thanks Karl and Bamby) .Some time the head/valves and pistons survive a jumped timing chain issue but not the cam carier.
Oh... and make sure both batteries are fully charged (if you got 2) .

Hi amlav thanks for the reply. To answer some of your questions, there was two or three bolts loose but tighten up now. I will do a compression test nearer the weekend as will have to get a loan of a unit to do it. I have checked all the relays under the bonnet all ok. Amlav the thing that is wrecking my head is the van drove into the shed with the two broken rockers, I took off the bare amount from the engine to change the rockers, got a friend who is a mechanic to check it for me,we bleed the fuel system still will not fire up and than I bought a new Crankshaft sensor put that in, still will not fire up, got code reader these codes pop up P1631----B1359----B2550----U1262, what is busting my chops Amlav is the van was running like a mouses heart before the rockers broke. I went back over everything from start to finish to make sure I had done everything right, I know what is wrong is very small, but trying to fine that very small & put my finger on it is taking a very big amount of time. :? :? Again thanks for you help Amlav cheers

P1631 power hold relay
B1359 ignition run/acc circuit failure
B2550 lamp dome output circuit short to ground

That's what the codes mean, don't have a clue if its related to the none start, the top one is from cranking the engine (I know that cos I got that code when my starter died).

Think I would check all the wires going into the fuse box, to the pump and what not to eliminate a broken wire it might not be the fault but worth checking. N

First thing I would do is make sure the fuel filter is full.

Hard to say without looking at it, but here is my two penneth. Going from the fault codes, you have a ACC circuit fault - which could suggest that you possibly forgot to attach the aux power when reattaching battery ( do check, more common than you would believe!) , or maybe the fusable link has failed. Earths on these are notorious, so check that also. If there is no power here, then there will be no power going to the PCM - the PCM cannot close the power hold relay and thus no start.

Your interior light is pretty normal, often a clean but won't effect it starting.

You said that "there was two or three bolts loose but tighten up now" . There is a reason why those bolts where loose and more likely the cam carrier is damaged , cracked .

Hi moto I am on the way out now to check that now as I have been saying to friends that the problem is something small and some thing as simple as this could be the cause Cheers.
