Mk7 euro 4 cut out then oil light flickered

Got in my mk7 85ps 2011 van this morning started fine in the frost cut out oil light flickered, started it again, same result, dont it a third time same result but glow plug light came on also with a diesel injector knock like the kind you get when its been hunting and cutting out.
I never had a chance to investigate the levels ect as i had to leave to go to a supplier.

When was the oil last changed, and what oil is in it?

5w30 semi was done in december done about 5k id reckon i started it about 9am ran fine for about a 8th mile then started to struggle like a filter blockage/airlock then cleared and ran fine it has started to hunt now so looks like prv? Scv? Maf? Maybe needed.

Try a fuel filter first?

That's the plan next although been fine last few days I've been busy and haven't had time to pick up a filter
