euro 4 or not help me save £100 a year

Postby fzrtdizxr » Wed Apr 26, 2017 5:00 pm

i have an transit mk6 lwb mh 2.4 turbo diesel registered 10-2004
iv'e just been reading

here
http://www.axa.co.uk/insurance/business/business-guardian-angel/van-tax-prices-2017-explained/?utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=content&utm_campaign=bi-bau-0417&utm_content=van-prices-2017&dclid=CPuNobu6wtMCFdQg0wodyjML7w

states the same on the DVLA site
https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables/other-vehicle-tax-rates

as above, that euro 4 vans registered between 1 March 2003 and 31 December 2006 or Euro 5 vans registered between 1 January 2009 and 31 December 2010 are labelled as code TC36 and pay £140 for a year or £77 for six months.

so what do i have? as it was registered between the euro 4 concession dates, but i don't know and cant find out if my van meets euro4 regs
could be good news for lots of us, but i aint holding my breath

The date of first reg will not define the euro spec, log on to the ford etis site an get your build data that will tell you the emissions spec of your van one of our vans was built in 2008 but was not sold/registered untill sept 2009 so your van could pre date the window vans can sit a while before they are sold

Nothing has changed, so what do you pay now? If it is the higher rate you will continue to pay that.

My van is registered Sept 2010 therefore within the second date range, however, I still pay the higher amount ie £240 per year.

just to muddy the waters somewhat the RAC say (check down to euro 4)

linc wont work, you'll nave to copy and paste, and put www. in front
rac.co.uk/drive/advice/know-how/euro-emissions-standards

that euro 4 wasn't compulsory until jan 06
so i take it the concessions were only given to those vans that had euro 4 compliance before it was actually mandatory, ie from march 03 until jan 06, all others pay the full premium

oh well, lucky i didn't hold my breath :(

Your 2004 is a mk6, which is Euro3

You cannot improve on the official rating, even if you were to re engineer it

Your entitled to exactly nothing.

Fookin lol.

Government concession dates & manufacturers production dates are two different things. :?

Transit Euro 4 production commenced in April 2006....you had until 31st Dec 2006 to register a Euro 4 compliant van.
No Squire, not just any van....it has to be a Mk7 (VM.1) :D

Why do the vans registered between jan 2009 and dec 2010 get a cheaper rate when the engines on them are the same as other vans that pay the higher rate?

Only Euro5 engined vans enjoy the cheaper tax rate, so no Transits qualified at that time, as the Euro5 was launched later
