Mk7 MWB High Top (Internal Height)

Postby MB15 » Wed Apr 26, 2017 7:44 pm

Evening Chaps

Wondering if anyone on here has a MK7 MWB High top transit and can tell me how high the internal roof height is?
FWD & RWD just so I know what to look out for when buying my next van 8)

I take it all LWB vans will be RWD?

Cheers MB

Most will be, but not all. FWD will give you the max internal height

Well I'm 6'1" and can "almost" stand up straight in the back of my medium roof FWD SWB, so you may be OK in the high roof.
BJT has a FWD High roof van, so would be the best person to ask, if no-one else pops up in the meantime :)

Thanks for the "heads up" :D , Be good to find out from another transit owner tbh
I asked a boy with a RWD LWB High Roof and he said his is 1850mm floor to roof (ie just over 6ft)

The FWD floor is at least 4" lower than the RWD 8)

I'm just shy of 6' and can stand up straight in my RWD LWB hi roof...with about an inch to spare....as mentioned the FWD will have ~4" more headroom....at 6' 3" you should just be ok in the hi roof FWD.

Spotted a few nice ex services vans with built in PTO Compressor & Generators
Hoping for a FWD in either MWB or "LWB" = Sorted

Those with pto generator and or compressor will be rwd and most likely 100ps 5 speed with sh*t diff ratio
Ford Transit Custom 280S Trend 105ps
Does this train stop on Merseyside?

Rwds are for pussies
The arsewash 3000 (mk7 lwb hi roof ) is probably about 4" higher inside the back and 100kg lighter than its dirty rwd counterpart
There's no step when you open the SLD or back doors so for a middle age woman in Cuban heels and corduroy like me its much better for lifting dogs in without tripping up over the step
There's a few inch of insulation on the roof so not much point me measuring it though

Is yours a 2.2 BJT ?
Reason i ask is I've been checking the regs of the vans advertised on ebay (etis)
And all the mwb fwd high tops have been 2.2's (so far)

Just need to bite the bullet and upgrade

Indeed 8) you need one with a six speed box and electric windows or you are just a vagabond
I believe the 115 is king
You don't want to start fannying around with rwds with 5.11 axles that do 60mph at 4000 rpm in top gear
Search diligently :)
