Mk7 2.4 injectors (2011 van)

Postby ryankkm » Thu Apr 27, 2017 7:20 pm

Have a problem getting my van to run properly after having 2 injectors replaced with supposedly good used ones,
Have them out now to send off to get reconditioned, but can anyone tell me why there's 2 with different part numbers or does the "AC" and BC" mean anything on the injectors?

The A and B injectors have different flow ratings.

When any injector is changed the engine control will need updating with the new injectors code and then the pump and injector learned values need to be refreshed.

You should ensure that all the injectors have the same part number.
Rebuilt injectors are probably a waste of money unless they come with new correction codes.

mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

Yeah the mechanic can't get the van to run properly he knows about learning the injectors and is using ids.
My question is does my injectors need to be all either the ac or all bc or does it matter?

Injectors with part numbers finishing AC are not the same as those finishing BC.

The injectors will be different, as I said before they have different flow ratings.

What PS is your engine..?? As V8Dave has mentioned....the injector part number will depend on the engine PS..! The 2.4 100/115 will be the same Pn... and the 140 will be a different Pn.

Different flow ratings etc...

It's a 115, I'm presuming he's got the ac one from a breaker somewhere and just looked at the
Numberson it and thought they were the same, should have known though!

Got a reconditioned bc one fitted today coded in and correction factors done,
No smoke now and van runs a lot better, slight judder from engine when holding rev between 1500 and 2000 rpm, don't know if that's anything to worry about?
And down on power slightly, mechanic says that the van was mapped before and now it's back to factory settings?? Can that even be done by working at the injectors?

If he did a pcm update it would clear a remap, but based on the fact he doesn't know the difference between injectors, I'd have my doubts

Everything lol, your mechanic removed number 4? It was ac? And he found another ac to replace it to test? Meanwhile the other 3 unbeknownst to your mechanic were all bc? So in other words it was wrong beforehand?

So you need 4 same injectors (probably the same as the 3 that are the same) but they all need to be tested imo, also it has had a pcm update and fuel pump learn/injector pilot learn? Are the injector correction factors correct? (1 won't be).

I'd also check the egr as it can influence performance etc but deffo seems a bit to cock tbh, also it had a remap? But a broken injector previous?

Runnnnnnnnn!
Just kidding but yes you need to put it all right i think before something goes very wrong.
