air con issue

Postby dodgy01 » Thu Apr 27, 2017 9:16 pm

my mk7 330 swb has air con but it has never worked

looking today the compressor clutch does not engage
also the gas appears to have low pressure
can anyone tell me if the compressor will run with low gas pressure ?
thanks

There are high and low pressure switches on the dryer/accumulator.

If the pressure is low the a/c will not function.

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

As said, gas pressure must be correct before anything else will happen

There's a U shaped pipe near chassis on near side front, tends to corrode behind the mounting bracket that goes around pipe itself.

There is a pipe with rubber and metal sections under the radiator on that side of a rwd that has to be in a plastic support clip or it will rub through on the radiator support rail.
