Help - Ford Transit MK7 Rear Speaker fitting.

Postby zara10 » Thu May 04, 2017 11:17 am

Hi I'm new here.

I have found the loom to fit a speaker in the rear of my GLX van. However there is only one connection point to allow me to fit one speaker and I want to fit two. Can I fit two speakers to the one loom and hope for the best or is that a no no.

I have purchased these and it comes with 2 connectors what's the best way for me to connect two speakers in the rear?

My speakers and extra wires are on it's way and I really want to have two speakers working in the rear of the van. Can't find a second loom/plug on the passenger side just drivers side rear above wheel arch.

This is what I found on the rear of passengers side above wheel arch.

Hope someone can help me out.

Thanks

Zara

I'd be tempted not to bother with the original ford plugs, much easier just to cut them off and solder/join new leads to them? or just crimp speaker connectors on them and plug them in to your new speakers.

Mk 7's are a bit of a pain regarding the rear speakers, there's s good change that plugs not even connected further down the line!

Mine wasn't, it was missing a section between the bcm and Apillar.

Hi, sorry just notice that this tread was approved.

The plug is working fine and all good. Speakers are working fine too. Only issue is the fader isn't available to use. But the sound quality and totally fine. Very happy with it. Was worried I was not going to be able to plug two speakers into the one loom. But we managed it. Woohoo. Thanks guys

Get it on ids and set it as 4 speakers in config, that'll get the fader working :-)

Ids is fords software.
Unless a forum member who has it is local to you it would probably be expensive to have ford do it for you.

I'll speak to my bro in law, he knows a ford specialist that works with transit vans and isn't with Ford. Thanks

Infact, will changing the radio from the 6006cdc to a another brand that's not ford, with built in DVD player etc will that allow me to change the Fader etc?

An aftermarket or the ford Sony unit will allow you to control the fader with out any additional programming :D

Pretty sure Mk7 rear speakers have to be "enabled" in IDS/Forscan.

Aftermarket stereo will be fine. The fader should not be an issue as its controlled by the stereo, rather than the van
