mk6 fwd coolant hoses and tank

Hi all, managed to crack my coolant tank on the transit, its gone brittle being so old and I dropped it.

I noticed there is two small hoses going to it and one large one in the bottom, the van is in bits so I cant go look and see where they went or go to. I am assuming the bottom one is return to the system, what are the two smaller top ones and where do they go? I would imagine one to be from the radiator to allow for expansion, can't think where the other one comes from

I am looking at replacing with a universal type and wondering if I can T the two smaller hoses together....
