No the Turkish are the better ones , it's the Southampton ones that rust due to the fact that unprotected body shell went out side for 5 mins due to the fact of the old buildings and the dip tank wasn't big enough

I suppose that makes sense what with Turkey being a fairly hot and dry place, the body does have a better start in life. I'm just hoping the new coil packs and leads cure it tomorrow. As I said I completed a compression test and all cylinders were equal at around 190PSI

It certainly looks a clean well looked after van, does the lpg work ok, if it turns out to just be the ht leads and coil pack that are faulty then you have certainly grabbed yourself a bargain. N

I'm really hoping it does cure it as I say the compression tests were equal, I did worry about bringing it back 30 miles with the missfire (which seemed to smooth out at higher speeds) borewash was my concern but hey ho I cant see it causing mega damage and the plug wasn't soaking wet and I couldnt smell petrol.

The coil packs, new plugs and leads were fitted yesterday. It runs like a top I have done around 10 or so miles in it and the plug in number 3 the missfire cylinder is nice and dry so I think I have avoided any bore damage. Has anyone experienced any bore damage on these due to missfire?

I wonder how that works :?

330 plated as a 280, same as the Econectic vans

Has it got the wrong size tyres on then? They are 185's I would have thought it should have 195's at least. Also it does say improved ride height on the Ford build list, is that why it sits so high? The rear springs are definitely Ford ones as I can still see the Ford emblem on them.

I think that the 185 tyre size is an econectic thing, as my 280 has 195's on it. It sits high because 330's do sit that high normally, in preparation for the 1400kg's that they can normally carry.
I can't quite get my head around why Ford would downplate a 330 to a 280, when they could just use a 280 in the first place.

Tyre size should be on the plate on the "B" pillar.

I have looked at the tyre placard and it does confirm that the tyre should be 185's so they are correct. When it comes to replacing the tyres I would like to go up a size or two. Whats people thought's on 195's or 205's ? As I know these are Transit sizes anyway. Does another size suit the van better for ride/handling although I'm not going to be driving it like Stirling Moss. Any thoughts chaps?
