Hello I recently bought a 60 Plate 85 280 SWB van which has only done 56,000 miles. The van is really nice a tidy and drives well. I have cover around 500 miles in it and it has started to blow a bit of white smoke when warm. It only does it when I am accelerating and changing gear - it puffs a cloud of smoke and stops. Power seems fine. Can any one give me an idea of what it could be. Thanks Ian

Have you checked your oil level? Could be damaged or faulty injectors, is it doing it all of the time when your accelerating?

Hello, it only seems todo it when temperature is at halfway and you rev past 2000 revs.

Get codes read before you do anything, guessing can be time consuming and costly.

I'll have a punt at a duff EGR.

Thanks - do you mean get it hooked onto diagnostic. Sorry not sure what codes read means.

Exactly correct...preferably a "Ford IDS" system...

Where exactly are you??...we might have a member local to you who has one and is willing to plug in....biscuits/a bacon & egg roll and a nice cup of tea is the normal fee..

Hi did you find out your problem as I have the same problem. Ok when cold but lose's power & smokes when upto temp.
