Can brake performance be improved?

Postby KevofCov » Thu May 25, 2017 8:39 pm

Hi
2010 2.4 LWB RWD
I have disc brakes alround and all is currentely fine and dandy. If I wanted to improve things are there any simple mods for the discs or pads?
Regards

Are we talking "sports" pads or just better quality "regular" pads ake? If theres a sporty option (that doesnt involve me getting exercise, but allows me to use the term sporty) im all ears.

Genuine Ford, or other premium manufacturer pads work much better than el cheapo pads.

You can also get upgraded pads from the like of EBC

Never knew EBC did pads for big transits. Didnt reckon much on their Redstuff pads on my okd connect (same pads as an ST170).

Personally I prefer just to have the proper stuff. Never had any problems stopping, even in a loaded vantunerd 350 that could push well past the 100 mph limiter

Ford pads and fresh fluid in my Mk6 Jumbo and the brakes were impressive. f*** knows what was fitted to the Mk7, but they are now in the bin, Ford pads not even bedded in are far better already.
