No power after engine change?

Postby toppetsaha » Sat May 27, 2017 12:56 pm

I have a transit 2.4, originally a 120ps. It was fitted with a 75 ps after it blew up which also blew up recently. I have now fitted a 125ps engine with an ecu from a different 125ps transit.

Managed to code the key ok but i keep getting an error code 4-0x22 851082 when trying to program the pcm module. Using a clone IDS.

The truck does start & drive but doesn't have any power. Its slower than the 75ps engine. When on idle the engine sounds sweet & responsive, when driving the accelerator is very unresponsive & really struggles to get up hills.

Any thought appreciated thanks.

sounds like my 2.4 mk6 jumbo. it had a engine change before i got it and has always been slugish , 0 to 60 in 1.5 mins ,, i did post a link some time ago of me doing the 0 to 60,,
i even had a remap giving an extra 25hp at a cost of £200,, . but im still not happy with it , its a nightmare pulling out from a layby on a fast road,

I think it may be coding issues, just want to see everybodys thoughts.. I had the 120ps for a while & that thing was like a rocket, everybody used to say how well it went!

This thing at the moment is unbelievably under powered, i ran out of steam in first gear the other day, never had that with a tranny.

Update..

Removed turbo, cleaned the wastegate & turbo, Removed egr & cleaned, Cleaned air flow pipe, Checked air filer & Knocked out the fuel filter. Checked all other hoses. Defiantly getting boost as the pipe blew off of the inter cooler but still having power issues. Going to replace the intake manifold from the other engine as it may be split.

Any suggestions anybody?

Turns out it was a split intake manifold. What a ball ache.
