fuel rail

Postby griffin41 » Sun May 28, 2017 10:51 am

As any one got a clue as to why Ford stopped selling sensor on the common fuel rail separately - there must be a reason other than money (2.2 tdi censor furthest from fuel pump

thanks
that is not my belly - i just need to make that clear and if you find a cure let everyone know it

Thanks for replying - the parts person told me they no longer sell them on there own so that just made me wonder what the reason could be - I have one off eBay but not sure of there quality as the tick over sometime goes lumpy

Money probably, the rail itself will probably never fail except by being damaged by the user.

The rail pressure sensor is also quite easy to damage if you look at the thread compared to the main body.

The sensor itself rarely fails tho so i would probably not worry about them until last.

If your tickover is lumpy, it won't be the pressure/temp sensor causing it, as mentioned, they rarely fail....more likely the SCV/PRV...a session on IDS and doing the learns may help.

Has your PCM been updated to the latest..?? Do you have anti-stall..??

Unless "ALL" the pump and pilot learns are completed successfully, she'll never run properly. If you have a duff injector, you'll most likely never get the learns done properly.

They're terribly finnicky at best.....everything has to be "just so" or they'll have a hissyfit and throw all their toys out of the pram...

So you've had a PCM update done, then the day after fitted a new SCV & PRV and have "not" had the learns done..?? :?

If so, it will not run properly until all the learns are completed successfully.
