Main dash instruments and central locking not working

Postby Beeze » Fri Jun 02, 2017 4:05 pm

Hi. Just bought an ex AA van (2011 T300 125 )and the main instrument cluster insn't working ( all other dash area is ok ) and central locking is also not working ( cant get entry to rear due to no key access ). Tested batteries and both showing 12.6 and 14.6 when engine is running. Not checked th fuses yet ( kids keep puling me away )but doesn't seem to have fuse 72 ( battery saver supply ) would this be an issue?

I'll say the battery showing 12.6 when running is the front 1, it'll be fooked:-(
You can try swapping it around with the back 1 which might help but you'll end up buying a new 1i think.

F72 will be in the bcm which is behind the main fusebox behind the glovebox, it has 2 tabs that you splay and then drop the fusebox down.

Hi loot

Thanks for your quick response. Maybe my message was a little confusing in the way i wrote it. Both batteries showed 12.6 without the engine running and both showed 14.6 when it was. Like you said i hoped to see one duff one but it doesn't look like it. Like you said there is a second hidden fuse box called the passanger fuse box and i have gained access to it. Unfortunately when i looked at the hidden fuse box fuse 72 is missing. I have now had time to check all fuses in the passanger fuse box and all are ok. I'll still try switching the battries as you recommended just to see if it helps but If you know of any other reason why i might be having issues i'd love to know and thanks again for your help so far.

14.6v at battery terminals while charging and 12.6v without charge input is normal.

Hi Ake. The missing fuse is for the "Battery Saver Supply" what ever that is not the "Starters" or is this the same thing? I'll get a fuse anyway and give it a try.

Instrument cluster Mk 7 Transit.

When I checked the terminal block with the ignition on I'm only getting power to pin 1 and 2. Is this as should be? and if not what else can I check and fault find. Oh its a mk7 2011 swb transit.

cheers Ake. I've sorted he fuse now and interior lights now work so thanks for the info. Just need to sort the dash board issue. Power is going to the unit but only pin 1 & 2. Unsure if this is correct or not?

Just some more detail of what I've done. I've used a Voltage light tester to test for power in the DLC. When the ignition is on I can only see that pin 1 & 2 are showing power. All other ports have no power. Also having read some other posts on here would the CD/Radio be causing an issue. At the moment its asking for the code which I don't have. I'm going to have a look how this can be done ( I'm sure there must be a work round or something ). I'm going to try the Key Code on my user manual to see if it's that before looking any further. Any further help you can advise Ake would be amazing and cheers for your time and help so far.

When I say DLC I mean the connector to the instrument panel at the back of the dash not the one down below if you know what I mean.
