spring hangers

I have recently spent some time lying on me back wire brushing and rust treating the chassis on my 2.4 /90 LWB transit and was quite taken aback at how flimsy the rear leaf spring mounting points are .They hardly seem thick enough to handle the specified loads and look more like those a large car might have fitted. I carry a motorcycle on the back and wonder if its worth trying to re-inforce them.
