Mass air Flow demanded live data

Postby dnorkett » Fri Jun 23, 2017 9:21 am

Hi

I wondered if anyone can help, I have a transit that is stalling at Idle. I did the PRV and SCV about a year ago and the full rail pressure is stable at idle around 21, 22 kpa

I have the following fault codes P14409, p1103, p0404. I have changed the EGR it has made no difference

When I look at the live data, the mass airflow demanded is 38.00g/s at idle. I have no idea if that is expectable, but when I checked against another transit it was 132.00g/s

My question is, could a problem with the MAF cause the stalling problem that I'm having?

Thanks

Even if both vans are running the same ecu calibration the mass airflow demand might be different.

Remind us what the van is and tell us your actual mass flow. Plus does the actual mass flow drop to zero when the engine is stopped.

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

The van that has the stalling problem is a 2.4 115 ps

The MAF reading (the one above MAF_DMD on ids), was around 8.78 g/s

The van I compared it against was a 2.4 100ps

The MAF reading was around 19.7g/s

Both of those readings were at idle. I didn't check the readings with the engine stopped

So different calibrations in the ecus, hence can't compare the demand values.

What about cylinder injection corrections.

Can you do a leakoff test ?

Mine liked stalling when arriving at junctions until I put new injectors in it after a leakoff test should the old ones to be worn out.

Unplug the maf and see if it'll run better

Mine does not start if the maf is unplugged but you can unplug once the engine is running and it does not stop, of course it will log a code.
