Mk7? twin batteries?

Could be a dying battery.

+1 tell us what the van is.
mk7 08reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD
mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

If its a 2010,model there is a software glitch on the ipc mine had it its quite common most van where sorted by ford during the first year they were out during the routine services , mine wasnt cos it was brought over from england when it was about 5 months old an it wasnt done I took it to ford an they did it for free ( I was doing work for the dealers other machinary so I suppose it was a favour)

Hello all

Its a 2.2 115ps 2010my trend . The ipk is the one with more options to flick through i.e. Mpg distance till empty etc rather than the Basic one I have seen in the owners manual

Does anybody know if it was a TSB or service action ford would do??

Many thanks

Not sure I went to the ford garage to work at their track machine and said to their w/ shop foreman that the van was annoying me cos the trip kept zeroing an I could not work out my mpg( every 3or 4 tanks id zero it & see how far Id get) and he sad there was a software fix for it ,he plugged ids in I serviced the jcb and when I finished it never did it again

Some vans come with 2 batteries if you have 2 its mounted back to back under yoir seat with the normal one some times you can have a duff battery which will lead to electrical gremlins as the 1st battery does all the donkey work and the 2nd only latches in when key on and engine running

On the factory twin battery setup the pair are connected when the engine is running.
One is disconnected shortly after the engine is turned off to preserve it for the next restart, it is latched in when you turn the ignition on again.

Actually, they are connected at key on, but disconnect again if engine isn't started in 120seconds!

They stay connected with engine running until either key off, or you stall it

Ake,

Don't the pair stay connected for 120 seconds when you stall it ?

No, drops out almost straight away, I've got a 350 parked round the back, so I've just been out and stalled it
