upper radiator hose diameter

Would any one of you cleaver bunch know the diameter of the upper radiator hose on a mk6 fwd, mucho thanks. N

Using the Loots school of engineering method the pipe measures 45mm outer diameter so allowing for the pipe thickness would this fit

Or am I best getting 42mm, my thinking is the pipe must be at least 5mm thick so the 40mm should be ok. N

If you're sure about the od of 45mm then I'd get 42mm based on wanting a snug fit :-) the hose will stretch a bit anyway, ideally I'd want the inner bit not to be restrictive, but i doubt it'll matter too much in this case. :-)

That's just my thought tho, your pipe might be old and stretched and likely to split :lol:

I don't think that the vdub crew have 1, i went and ran up the mountain yesterday and i parked up next to a blue custom but nearly every other van was a transporter :shock:
All biking about.

Vitos are fugly and vdubs are hippies or morons :lol: None of the high class personnel you find lurking on here :lol:

I think I might order the 42mm adapter, I would rather it be to tight then leak, I didn't think about the 14 year old pipes being dodgy might need to buy a new one to be on the safe side. N
