How to fit aerial- mk7

Postby Mikeemikester » Thu Jul 13, 2017 5:17 pm

Hi guys/gals,

I recently cross threaded my aerial and it is properly knackered! So I've bought a new standard base and mast.

I'm nervous about removing the headlining to fit the new one. Can anyone shed any light on how to get to where I need to be I.e what do I remove first and how? Any help is much appreciated!!!

Cheers, Mike.

If the head lining I the same as the mk6 then its straight forward,

Remove the sunvisors and clip, remove passenger side grab handle, remove windscreen trim each side (they just pull off the clip and lift up abit) remove both interior lights, remove all the round clips from rear of roof lining and drivers side grab handle blanks, now the roof lining should pull down, there should be a plug on the drivers side for the interior lights.

The aerial mounting is behind this metal bit in the corner

Hope that helps. N

Oh forgot loosen the plastic where the seatbelts go or pull the roof lining up from behind it. N

All done. Apart from snapping one of the headlining clips next to the load space bulkhead it all went smoothly. :D
