strange fault

started today - Every time I am in reverse and press the brake the Rear fog light symbol on the dash lights up, take foot off brake and it goes out.

I have just fitted a wiring kit from PJones for Tow bar, and i am going to guess this may be the cause (will unplug tomorrow).

Anyone had this before? any ideas on what could be the cause?

Check the earth at the rear lights and the plugs & tracks in the light fittings

Good plan, i recall a track being a bit loose in the drivers side light, however fault says left? but does left mean right? Christ this is confusing

Turned out to be a dodgy connection in the passenger rear light.
