A switch with led on and a couple of relays will work, it will work on the principle that the switch bypasses the ignition switch wire to mimic the ignition switch in the on position but you'll have n/c switches on the handbrake/clutch whatever safety you need and when they are deactivated they'll Curt power to the switch to cut off the ignition.

There are a few ways to do it.

I emailed this company to enquire about their £44 fancy box for my 2012 van
http://www.rsg-ontop.com/shop/100_Run_Lock_Systems

"I am sorry to say that it is unlikely to work.
We would recommend using a vehicle specific CAN-based run lock system
in order to ensure that the part is effective

The Mk7 is £159.00 exc. VAT (3-5 working day lead time).
No extra Relays are needed for the install, just a momentary Switch which are £24.00.

Please note that the remote central locking will not work when in runlock but the central locking still works by using the key in the door"

I`m planning doing similar to what Loot has said tbh, I have a friend in the ambulance workshops so hoping to get a rough wiring diagram "print out" before i touch anything (I`m shite with the wires)

The runlock I have is just two relays and some diodes, I think on relay would work if you don't have the cut off switches connected to the clutch pedal and handbrake.

Jls on here sold me mine

Correct-O-Mundo....Highway Code Regulation 123.

There are some exemptions, such as a Utility Contractor using work tools via a PTO....

I understand that if you do jail time, there is a high probability you'll be gang raped....I also understand they do a good English Breakfast, so you may want to risk it.

I'm not sure , but if a correctly fitted runlock is fitted, which deactivates if you press clutch, brake panel of release the handbrake then I think it's OK because nothing can be done to the unattended vehicle.

No it's for environmental reasons. Global warming and air pollution.

The taxi rank at our train station often has 20/30 taxis, imagine if they all left their engines running....

Don't see the yanks giving much of a fook.

All be driving hover cars by 2040 anyway :-)

If it's that much of a worry you can fit a cheap remote relay that you can turn off if you spot the feds

Such negativity chaps
