Wheel bearing

Postby Herts » Sun Jul 23, 2017 7:41 pm

Does anyone know the correct wheel bearing for a MK7 2.4 RWD 2007

I have found 2 part numbers, see below:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Ford- ... SwJq1ZZfk9

or

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Ford- ... 3f6ad9404d

Many thanks for any input.

I knew you would be the first one to reply, at least it was quite sensible.

The heavier one is slightly larger in diameter (ID) and the hub is likewise larger....Usually for the Jumbo's and dual rear wheel jobbies.

It's a shame they don't provide detailed dimensions for the bearings more often. I have a spare one sitting here for a mk6 and putting cheap digital calipers on it I get about 44.85mm on the ID. I assume the hub shaft is going to be about 45.0mm OD. If I can find a dual wheel or jumbo hub lying around I'll try and get a measurement just out of interest. Confirming dimensions before handing over the money for parts has saved me a lot of time & hassle in the past.

Well, guess what?

Old BJT is correct, the bearing ending 907 is the correct one for my van and cost £121 from Ford main dealer.

Also well done to our foreign friend from down under, he is also correct.

Now I have to get the b*stard fitted and no I won't be bash bash that will do.

The second one, (908) looks the same as my fwd 09 plate transit, front wheel bearing, also was same for my 02 plate front wheel drive, front wheel bearing.

UPDATE:

The love machine is back on the road after 3.5 hrs removing the old bearing, it didn't want to come out.

Happy days!
