PRV / SCV codes

Postby Aussiejoe » Wed Jul 26, 2017 10:17 am

Hi from Aus,
Today my 2008 110 fwd had a miss going up hill and threw these codes
P048014 - fan 1 control circuit
P00897A- fuel pressure regulator performance
P068A00 - ECM/PCM Power relay deenergised too early
P116E00 - fuel pressure relief valve actvated

Is this meaning I need to replace SCV & PRV or was it just a hiccup?
Live data for fuel pressure at idle does fluctuate slightly at start up then settles @23

Also is g scan2 capable of doing pump & pilot learn?

Thanx for any help as haven't found any transit gurus on the sunshine coast

I'm afraid I know nothing of Gscan2...but for diagnosing, it might pay to pop the PRV out to see if it's still in one piece, if not you've found your issue.

The SCV is usually the cause of the PRV blowing, hence your P116E00 code.

Worth checking at least.

I'm down in Sydney so not much help I'm afraid.

Thanks Knobby1,

This is a replacement engine that has already done 280,000kms so I might just look at replacing both scv&PRV so I don't disintegrate another engine.

Can I replace parts then drive to get pump and pilot learns done or is it best just to get them fitted at garage. BTW local stealer has quoted over $1500 to do this, which is why I've asked about Gscan2 as the local Bridgestone has it and the young diesel mechanic is willing to do it yet he states he's never had anything to do with transits but has replaced them on new Isuzu trucks etc. Apparently Gscan2 can do the resets

So if anyone has used Gscan2 to do this I would appreciate the run-through to show him so it is done correctly. Also where is best to source parts in Aus? (Ford Caloundra quoted $980 just for two parts) Transit Spares in Hervey bay has Denso scv($185) but aftermarket PRV ($138) will that be anygood? They state there has been no returns but they're not a workshop just sales. Thanks in advance for any input.

Have a look at forscan software, i think it does all the learns, there is a forum too which i think helps.

The software is free to download provided you have the modified elm327 obd reader (can be bought for about 15gbp)

I can't help with the software you have tho sorry.

So when you say modified elm327 what does that mean I see a lot of wifi ones on eBay is there a certain brand one that communicates both ways when used with the forscan software?? Is it simple enough to use? Does the idiots guide to IDs help with forscan or is it for other software? Sorry not all up with this but would love to be able to do stuff myself over getting bent over at workshops haha..

It is an elm 327 device but has a switch on it that allows it to be switched from can h to can m. but it works on mk7 and even the mk8/custom.

It is dead easy to install the software and there's forums dedicated to forscan, it basically utilises info from Ford modules and they backdoor code to perform functions that ids does.

So it's like a hacked ids but not supported.

It is cheap and does the job. :-)
