Remote locking fob not working

Hi, I have a MK6 2005 reg and went to use the remote locking this morning. Unfortunately it failed. I replaced the battery but again no joy. Online I see new cases but I am guessung I need a whole new fob. Any advice would be welcome.

Easy fix on a MK6. You can either buy a new fob on ebay for about £3 last time I checked, or you can try to program yours in to the ecu again on the off chance it works.

The programming procedure is:
– Insert a programmed key into the ignition
– Turn the key from the off to on position 8 times
– You will hear the vehicles locks cycle
– Press any button on the remote
– Again you will hear the locks cycle
– Turn the key to the off position and remove from the ignition
– Wait 10 seconds and test the remote

If you have more than one remote to program you have to do it at the same time as it looses all previously known remotes when you program a new one
