Postby Dixwah67 » Tue Aug 15, 2017 3:00 am

Gday all.
Have oil down left side of engine. Appears to be under inlet manifold..i have Replaced vacuum pump had leak. Also Water pump no leaks there now.
Removed inlet manifold, a lot of oil residue and crap in inlet...
Queation is....no 1 and 4 inlet ports wet with oil others dry and grey.....? Any ideas?

It is oil or diesel on port 1 and 4 ?
If diesel than it could be inlet valves on cyl 1 and 4 not closing properly (timing out or rokers faulty ???)
Realy not sure what to suggest .
Oil sipping under the inlet manifold would point towards the manifold seal (oil residue from the turbo) or head gasket .

Definately oil....intake manifold wet with oil and carbon. After pondering am thinking as air inlet is right above first 2 ports is getting oil deposits before others and last port is getting what is running down the bottom of intake manifold. Is odd that others are dry and grey.....
Seems oil is from intake so turbo seal or breather hose.

All turbo engines will have some oil in the inlet manifold, and the carbon comes from the egr.
Clean it out and put it back
