2010 Transit 2.4 AWD - Retrofit Cruise Control Possible?

Postby Tranny7 » Tue Aug 15, 2017 6:46 pm

Hi all

My friend has just bought a 2010 '60 plate ex british gas 2.4 SWB 330 AWD.

It has no buttons on the wheel like mine (that has cruise control) but I have also seen the buttons on stalks too.

Is there any way to retrofit cruise control either OEM (preferable) or aftermarket?

Preferably he would like someone to do it for him as neither of us are that handy with that sort of thing!

Thank in advance!

As said above....have a look in the forum "How To" section....one of the Knights (Sir Loot-a-lot) has a compiled a How To Retrofit Factory Cruise. 8)

If you find money easy to come by there will be nothing stopping you paying someone else to do it. :(

Otherwise, roll ya sleeves up, bond with ya van & save a few quid whilst doing so. 8)
No Squire, not just any van....it has to be a Mk7 (VM.1) :D

If you don't get the factory set up on your van Conrad Anderson do a after market set up not as good as Ford set up but not to bad I have the older system on mine it works by motor and a cable to pull the throttle pedal down I think the later system is full flyby wire the best part of my system is that it has 3 buttons on the stalk to preset the 3 speeds which is very handy

Have a look at the how to, Conrad i think are 800 pounds or something silly aren't they

I'll bet you have the high spec bcm and wires in your van already (but confirm) so you'll need a cruise steering wheel and cruise activating.

When mine was done in 2009 it was only under half that £800 to much to pay for it hope you have the wireing so it's an easy job m8

Hi Guys,

I fitted the Conrad Anderson after market cruise control a few months ago, It cost me £256.66 delivered.

It came fully set up for my 2010 MK7 and only took me a couple of hours to fit (probably only take you lot about an hour.)

It is only the basic unit (no speed memories) but it works well, keeps the speed fairly accurate, just goes a bit out on steep hills.

Pull up to turn on (press down to turn off), push forward to hold the speed you are at, then pushing up or down will speed you up or slow you down.

Pressing any pedal will disengage and pulling down will resume.

I'm well happy as my MK7 didn't have any of the requirements for fitting the OEM system.

Regards,

Paul
