missing DPF

Postby the_big_fact_hunt » Fri Aug 18, 2017 10:05 pm

im thinking of replacing my van with a 61 plate lwb trend that comes up on car tax checker as a 125ps fwd 2.2
The mot history shows it failed recently, but the advert does not state this. The main problem (other fails are minors) is this.....
Exhaust particulate filter missing where one was fitted as standard ptf system disconnected (7.1.3)

is this something that can just be replaced? or does it need plugging in to rectify as well?

A 125 2.2 fwd is a Euro 5 and should have a dpf.

If it's been removed, then you'll need a new one, thanks to the new stricter mot rules, and f*** mongos that don't fix things properly. Most mk 7 dpf issues are either the glow plug, vaporiser, or ford dealer, any of them are under £200 to fix at a Ford dealer.

But hey let's not do that, let's rip off a perefectly good dpf and devalue the van and make it un mot able
f*** muppets.

Depending on how the remover of the dpf got around the engine management and warning lights, you might also need to install a new ecu calibration or remove other cheat devices from the wiring loom. They may also have tampered with the egr system and removed/changed components.

mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small
