MK6 , 90 T300 - Intermittent Non Start

Postby MB15 » Sat Aug 19, 2017 7:48 pm

Evening Guys ,

Problem with one of our vans - It`s a 2002 , 90 T300

The van fires up fine , (Wee red LED flashes like mad next to the clock when she`s running)
When the wee light stops flashing and it`s turned off then on - It won`t start
We just get the glow plug light flashing and it turns over but wont fire..

The wee light next to the clock seems to be flashing a code of 24?

We don`t have any plug in computers that will read the van,
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for reading

It`s a strange one as she runs sweet as a nut ,
but if the glow plug light is flashing she'l turn over but wont fire/start ,
If we spray start ya b*****d in the inlet she try's to run off that so it`s as if she`s no getting fuel when that lights flashing , If left for a wee while she'll start no bother

Thought it was a immo fault at first so tested the key but it`s showing fine

Code scanner is showing power train module and fuel inj pump
Ecu has just been remapped , Wondering if it`s anything to do with that

The fault would always be there if it was the chain surely?

Van will never start when the glow plug light flashes as its also the engine management light, if the pcm sees a fault the light will flash . N

Thanks Ned ,

Found codes below from your link

P1608 = Internal ECM Malfunction
P0216 = Injection Timing Control Circuit Malfunction

Cheers Whitemice ,
It`s a single key with the blue top (no fob) , Had my pal test the transponder / immo box and came back fine , Reading thru old topics I`m thinking it`s the Ecu or Electrics on the Pump (or wiring somewhere)

I`ll update as I go along , Thanks all

Maybe the MODS could add a 'sticky' up top showing how to do it :) :) :) :) :)
