Misfire when making a left hand turn

Postby davireland » Mon Aug 21, 2017 4:47 pm

I have recently purchased an 07 2.4 100 ps pickup, ran fine for a couple of days, noticed a very infrequent misfire, which seemed to pass but now few weeks on has returned again, and is only really noticeable when making a left hand turn, even on a slight left hand bend the vehicle misfires, and if at low revs when turning left into a junction it will cut out all together, have had a diagnostic check done by my local mechanic but no faults showing up. seems to be more inclined to do it when fuel tank is quite full, any ideas ?

Something trapping the fuel line as the weight shifts?, fuel pump moving around getting a bad connection etc?

Ok guys thanks for your help , have found the problem , it was indeed the loom , a previous owner must have had a problem or a need to access the wiring , the protective casing had been slit open and taped back together and it was rubbing on the side of the junction box, as soon as I moved the loom the problem disappeared , may have to look at replacing that front loom, thanks again. :D
