I'm not sure how the procedure differs between FWD and RWD (probably more to remove on fwd im guessing?) I've been qouted around that for a new clutch and flywheel and labour - although i have a friend who can do it cheaper.

Thanks for your reply, maybe I should shop around a bit if that quote of yours was for the flywheel as well?

It was about £200 labour, and around £200 for parts which i get myself. no guarantee on the parts from the garage is the downside, but there is guarantee from the parts supplier :?

Ford charge £1000 for a RWD and £1500 for a FWD.

I know as I paid them, this was last year.

So far (done 50 miles) clutch fine. I asked when I went in there to see the clutch they took out and it was in a right mess the fluid from the slave cylinder had leaked out over it. Pity really as the plate was in good condition worn but still had a few miles left in it. But better to fix before it went altogether. Ironically the clutch worked perfectly on way to garage even if it was at the bottom of its travel.

By the way it cost 400 pounds with 12 month guarantee, don't think that is too bad

That's not bad for a LUK kit, my m8 had a clutch and solid flywheel kit from transitparts he's had knocking around for ages so he gave me the lot for £100 and charged me £100 for fitting as i gave him a hand. No idea how long mine will last but LUK are usually good kit :D
