Rear bearing mark 6

Postby carl20 » Wed Aug 23, 2017 7:13 pm

Just removed a rumbling rear wheel bearing on fwd mark 6 and pick up new part tomorrow from eurocarparts (aftermarket part 60 squid)
My question is do I grease the bearing before sliding it on and if so is copper grease best ?
My local garage mechanic adviced not to use it on brake pipes as it is corrosive, I find that hard to believe but I'm not an expert.
I'd like to be able to remove it easily in the future if need be. Maybe in a couple of weeks seeing as it's a europarts aftermarket special !
Would get a better one but am about as wealthy as worzel gummidge at the moment and I need my van.
Thanks guys in advance

You need to use a lithium based greese for bearings

Moly grease is the abrasive and as for copper grease it drys out and goes hard after a while
