Power delivery

Postby Big red ktm » Sun Sep 17, 2017 9:02 pm

Hi all
After having a mk6 for 8 years I have just purchased a 63 2.2 100 horse, so I was expecting the same power delivery as before but with a bit more ummph! But although it does seem to accelerate faster I'm not getting the feeling of the turbo kicking in, it just seems to have a very narrow power range from about 1250 rpm to about 2250!
Is this normal? It's done 75k
Cheers

I'm guessing a "63" 2.2 100 will be a Euro-V machine..?? If so, she'll be somewhat "neutered" by the Euro-V emissions requirements. It's not just Ford...It's very difficult for all manufacturers to give a decent power and power delivery and still keep within the emissions laws....
