Coil spring question

Postby Retired John » Wed Sep 20, 2017 8:18 am

I am having trouble sourcing new coil springs for my 2002 VH 2.4 Transit there are plenty listed for VE VF VG so '94-2000 but none for VH onwards any ideas if they are compatible with the later models ?

Hi John,
Looks like they're a different setup & part number, the earlier ones are inboard swing-arm coils, the later ones are "Coil-over shock"...yours is #6 here:

The earlier 1994-2000 is #8 here:

Even the Mk7's are different too.

Thanks Knobby it just seems strange every other spring shop has replacement coils for the pre 2001 jobs and none seem to have from VH onwards although Kings springs do a set with a 40mm lift for winnebago's because of their luton peak they are super heavy over the front axles many are in fact way overweight  where our sunliner sans luton peak is much lighter on the front 8) . Not sure what to do but we have sagged somewhat and the LHS is down 12mm on the right so thought whilst doing the big front end rebuild I would replace the springs too .

I suspect a decent suspension shop may be able to help you out...I'm not much help to you down here in Shitney though..!
