Rev Counter on 2002 MK6?

Postby StevenMurray » Fri Oct 13, 2017 10:47 am

Does anyone know if it's possible to put a rev counter on a MK6 2002 Transit? Even an aftermarket one. I made the mistake of buying a set of clocksfrom eBay for £50 before discovering that they didn't work on mine as mine has the analogue dash and they went to digital a year later. The only silver lining at the minute is that I put the clocks back on eBay and got £70 for them. :)

Oh OK, I thought we had had this discussion before, and you confirmed that the cluster was the same ................. maybe i dreamt it :!:

It would have to be the later ones, '97 on I think, as the early ones had a cable driven speedo which the early Mk6 never had :!:

I'm sure Matt will be along soon to put me straight  :P

Thanks nedforceone, but the pictures are no longer available in that thread. Is there anywhere I can download them?

And, do you know where I can pick up the trigger for the rev counter? Does the 2002 Tranny ECU provide it anyway?

Mr Altransit might be the best man to ask about the images
I'm sure but not 100% that the pcm will supply the rpm for the counter. N

Does it not come from the alternator, pre digital :?: :?

Sadly, the images on that thread were hosted by the OP's own website, so have probably been deleted, or possibly even, the website no longer exists. This is why it's best to use the forums own hosting for pictures now, where at least you can guarantee they won't be deleted whilst the forum exists :)
