im doing my timing chain this week as making a really bad noise on my mk7 rwd 2.4 which has done 330,000 miles, im going to buy genuine chain, tensioner and guides from ford parts uk (links below)
Chain http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/search. ... ds=1704089
Tensioner http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/search. ... ds=1704066
Guide http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_tr ... 704049.htm
Guide http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/search. ... ds=1753155
which guide is missing as cant find the 3rd? and is that the correct tensioner as seen people talking about a new modified one?
is this it? https://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_t ... 372438.htm
do i have to do the sprockets at the same time as ford parts told me the cost which arnt cheap
cam shafts £46+vat each
fuel £97+vat
crank £39+vat
is there much difference between genuine ford sprockets and ones of ebay?
i know people say to stay away from transit parts uk but are they now using genuine ford chains and tensioners as there ebay listing says they do
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-TRANSIT- ... SwBahU0fVX
Obviously better value if are genuine chain and tensioner if comes with everything i need
thanks in advance!
