Tech spec sources

Postby Airthies » Thu Oct 19, 2017 12:43 pm

Well chaps and chapesses

Does anyone have a reliable source for dimensions and specifications on parts like bell housings and flywheels etc?

Can't find what I'm looking for so far....

My idea is... If any of the ranger gearboxes would fit onto a 2.4tdci 2006+
And whether it would need a different clutch/flywheel or even an adaptor plate made up.

The reason being is like a lower crawler gear for when I'm on site as some of the ramps are two steep and rough to rally up at speed, but if I slow down it'll stall.
But don't want to change the diff ratio as it'll take me even longer and more fuel to get from one end of the country to the other
Cheers guys

Ps it'd only be for rwd at first but adding a front dif is not out of the question in the future

Don't the 2012+ rangers use the same 3.2l 5cyl engine as the mk7 transit ?
mk7 08reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD
mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

Is your 115 a 6 speed..?? If not the MT82 6sp box has a 1st gear which is good for climbing trees

Mine is the 115 6spd an it's still not low enough.

That's what I thought and what I was aiming for in a full conversion. Just using transit shell and periferals like lights locks etc
But looking for something a bit more straight forward to start with than transplanting an entire drive train.
Funds/time/space being factors

But do they use the same box in the 200ps 3.2 vans as is in the 140-115ps vans?

Check Martynx's thread on Agent Orange viewtopic.php?f=27&t=132404

If a 3.2 goes onto any mt82 then the ranger mt82 with transfer box probably fits a 2.4 or 2.2.
