It shouldn't but you may have either, blown prv, unseated scv, injector o rings chafed, filter/head problem egr problem.

My favorite is non genuine prv/scv tho, also when you replaced the prv(if you did) did you remove the old copper washer?.

Hi Loot, yes I replaced the old washer, had to hijack the misses tweezers and "customise" them as it was a nightmare to remove! The new prv is a genuine ford one, a local mechanic fitted a different pump that was "known to be good" so I am hoping the scv was good, the funny thing is after each change the van runs great for a while, new pump went great for a few hours then started getting gradually worse, new prv great for about a day and a half then gradually worse, it even ran sweet after the pump and pilot learn but only for a short while, I'm starting to suspect something electrical but no idea where to look :(

With ids you should see codes.
Has it got 2 batteries under the seat? Do you ever see any strange goings on?

Things that cut out that I'd check are batteries, ignition switch, fuel filter, crank sensor.

An injector leak off test might be an idea, you can also blank the egr with a solid blank, it'll throw the elm but won't pass gas so won't cut out, this is for diagnostic purposes.

However, you should clear codes, drive it a while, then recheck codes and post them up here :-)

Opinions differ on this but if you grab it and it isn't wobbly then that's check 1, check 2 is remove it and check to see if there's filings on the end which could cause it to give wrong signals back to the pcm and confuse it, the crank sensor is cheap to replace.

If you choose to reuse the old 1 then you risk problems as the air gap will be incorrect.

they should do crank sensor test thow i.e rpm :)

delphi is good diagnostics

snap on is way over rated

i asked my dealer the other week for machine diagnostics and was £10,000 quid over 5 years and every year it was another £400 to update it jeltest a think its called :(

and to make that pay it would have to be £200 for every plug in on a machine

and who is going pay that these days
