Anyone got history of my Van?

Postby gouldy847 » Sun Oct 22, 2017 12:32 am

Hi all, Just bought myself a 2.2 85hp in trend guise, love it to bits. Now, its rather nippy for an 85, im wondering if its been modded or mapped. Now the reg is bc60xjn, if anyone has any info on it id like to hear. Ill be getting it mapped at some point soon but want to know whats been done if anything. Also, im after some og=f the better F4 injectors so if anyone has any please ket me know!

Thanks for any help that may come!

They do get along ok when empty for a FWD...You may have the short diff ratio too which will help with acceleration.

Just plonk you reg or VIN No. into ETIS and you should get all the info on your beast....It won't tell you if it has been remapped though.

So, Iv worked out that my van is not standard... Drove another 85 today and mine markedly quicker so I am now assuming its been mapped. She runs brilliant (after an oil, oil filter and fuel filter change) but is throwing up the MIL light due to me blanking the EGR valve. As im a bit of a worrier, iv got myself booked in with Martyn for the 4th for a map and to get the EGR turned off... a bit excited! Now, do the injectors from the 2.4 fit (obvs Denso ones)..... Or has anyone got any suitable ones for sale??????

I digress, I have also dropped off my wheels at "Banded wheels Essex" today, they are only 15" but will be used as winter ones. They will be 1" at the front and 2" at the rear. Only problem now is what color do i go??? As shes black i was either thinking...... Anthracite, Midnight Blue or a kind of deep midnight red. Whats peoples thoughts???

Red wheels on a black van have to be accompanied by a red stripe down the side you know  N

You do realize that you'll fail your next MOT with the EGR modified or disabled..?? There's substantial fines for it too.

I am doubtful that an Average MOT test centre would take off the map and check it for if the EGR has been disabled. And a very good job i know my MOT tester aswell.

True...but I believe they'll be "plugging into" the machines PCM's/ECU's to see if they're still active and/or disabled etc...The new rules came into effect in May this year I believe.

There's some info here:

Yup, plug it in and any evidence of tampering/delete/defeat of emmisions software is an instant fail.

Blanking plates and knocked through Cats/DPFs are harder to spot, but can and do fail on gas analysis.
