Brake lights fail?

So I was on my way home and another friendly mk7 driver with his flatbed told me my brake lights were out, I'm going to guess for the switch but is there anything else to look out for like a separate fuse etc?

Right so having stuck my head under the steering wheel I unplugged the plug wire to the blue white switch had a tinker plugged it back in and they now work so I'm guessing the switch is failing and I'll get another one in, the third bulb had blown which maybe caused an issue I'm unsure the fuse was good.

Now another question is what are the other 2 switched on the brake pedal?

I was thinking more direct replacement tbh

I fitted one to mine over a year ago, join the wires and drill 2 holes.

No more blowing bulbs every time you close the rear door.

I used the same led panel that everyone has used in the interior lights, soldered in, permanant fix.

Discovered the clown who put the bulbs in got them back to front which hasn't helped also tut
