Could possibly do with checking the injector clamps and/or the copper injector sealing washers, they are known to come loose and cause similar noises. Might also do well to get pump, pilot and injector learns done, along with PCM firmware update too.

3 items came to light,1st one was glowplug circuit reported a fault, second was an injector fault and third was fuel sensor detected water.
I did notice the water was on min mark a few days ago and filled it up to the max mark but today when he did codes I looked and it is on min mark again.
The mechanic who came said he thought one of the injectors was faulty as soon as he started van, so he was not surprised when the fault showed up on his machine.
The van has had a new fuel filter just before I bought it so maybe the seller was in the know.
Anyway the mechanic says he can take van in one day this week and explore more closely so I guess I best get ready to part with some serious cash lol.

Your "fuel sensor detected water" issue is a well known fault and has nothing to do with the coolant level, (If you're losing coolant it will be a different problem), It's a PCM software issue and was fixed in later PCM updates.
Your glow plug could possibly require replacement, but most transits will run fine without them, although the higher powered 140 Mk7's still get a bit testy starting in cold weather without them. If indeed it does require replacement, it's best to do all of them at the same time so you know they're all good to go.
With the suspect injector, it's best to do an injector leak-off test first, this will give a fair indication of injector health. If this proves ok, a full set of "Pump, Pilot & Injector Learns" and a PCM update may help greatly.
