Noisey Quack Valve

I have a swb 2008 Transit and the local garage replaced the egr valve about 18 months ago ( 18,000 miles). The last month the cycle it does every time I stop the engine is getting very noisey. Should I be lubricating it?

You can "re-grease" the little gears inside the stepper motor....but the valve may be clogging up with exhaust spooge causing it to struggle a bit, hence the noisier than normal operation.
