MOT time.

Postby transbenny » Mon Nov 13, 2017 8:58 pm

Hey guys,

got my mot tomorrow and checking all my bits and the 3rd brake light is not working, had a look inside and its all fused together with rust.

does anyone know what the connector is that plugs into the actual third light? as its all f*** basically , i can buy a new light housing and bulb but now i have to replace the clip that connects into the light housing/lens as it was all fused into the housing.

Im going to take the lens of for the mot and put some gaffer tape over the hole, should go through then. well if theres no other bits.

thanks in advance

Yeah that will be fine, just tape over it.

Just hard wire it....it's not like you're taking it out all the time..!

Yep I do that, I didn't even wash the van this year lol, I just check fluids, wipers and lights then let the garage tell me what it needs. N

Similar...but I don't think our MOT or "Rego check" is as "stringent" as your lot...However, with our machines, if your vehicle was originally fitted with something, it must still be there and work...you can't just "tape over it" and hope they don't see it..! Oil leaks are a big No-No too..! We obviously don't see the rust you guys do either... They're a bit more lenient here with regards to emissions though, but I believe this will be changing in the not too distant future.
