Transit Sport

Hi All,
I'm new to the site and looking at buying my first decent transit.
I have been looking down the route of the Transporter for a while now, as I'm looking for a combi van that I can remove the rear seats in to get motorbikes in the back. But spending hours on ebay Ive noticed some Mk6/7 sports with removable seats which I thought only the VW's and Vitos had.

Anyway.. I'm looking for some opinions on the sport engines. A few on ebay have state recon engines fitted very early on in the mileage. Is there a known problem with them? Am I better going to a sport rep so I have the looks but a more reliable engine?
