cant get in my van grrr

Postby the_big_fact_hunt » Sat Nov 18, 2017 7:18 pm

mk6 jumbo on my drive, single battery, old type key and seperate fob with seperate cobra alarm fob.
Battery has gone flat, It would have been locked with the cobra fob to set the alarm, its nose first in the drive with another motor at the drivers side, it unlocks with the key but the door only opens a few inches, and the passenger door wont open by tipping the lock button to open and pulling the handle.
I cant connect jump leads as its the wrong way in the drive, will a battery charger on the jump points work? or at least put power in so the remote can be used? I have a trickle charger, failing that i could take a battery from another motor and connect that with jump leads.
If i could get enough power to open a window i can climb in and remove the battery.
Any clues?

Battery or charger on the jump point should do the trick :D

You'll be able to unlock the doors as soon as you connect it, hope fully you won't have killed the battery, and it will recover with a 24 hour charge

Cobra alarms will kill the battery if you leave them armed on a laid up vehicle, it's happened a few times to me as well

if i get chance, tempted to swap it for the rear battery on the other jumbo then leave the passenger door unlocked (has extra locks on the rear) until i sell it
