Mk7 dpf fault question?

Postby glenandemm » Mon Nov 20, 2017 6:53 pm

Hi guys engine light came on my dads mk7 2.2 85 2010 then went into limp mode with the cog light, he brought it round and got the 2 dpf p codes, checked loom and found to be broke at back of gearbox so cut the connector out and joined the wires directly together again so all good then took briefly up the bypass near us for 5-10, at first light kept coming on but after second run it stayed off until we got home then started van again and came back on but no limp mode.
Same dpf p code, I’ve told him to try a good run up the motorway for 20-25 mins but would this sort it do you think and make it do a good regen and would the engine light go out by itself or will he after to clear the fault again?

Didn't know the 2010 machines came with a DPF..?? I suspect it was an option on earlier Mk7's..??

Dpf in a 2010 euro4 was an option, but very rare.

Hi guys no I only have a basic fault code reader and found the fault codes 2643 and 264c, since I’ve repaired the wiring loom I’m only getting the 2643 blocked dpf code, ps your right I mistyped the year its 2012!!!

It's a euro 5 with dpf then, usual fault is the sensors or wiring I think which stops it doing regens and that then fills the dpf up.

You need to get it on Ids to clarify the fault codes I think, then fix it then do a forced regen.

also check glow plugs these play apart for a regen as well

:(

changed some the other week it took me hours to change them

also we cleaned the dpf with traffic film remover neat and its work so far

p.s we left it to soak over night the washed it out the day after with just clean water

Wiring faults, or glow plugs or atomisers, all common faults, all fairly cheap to fix

But if it’s a 2012 Euro 5 with dpf then it’s not 85 ps
