Hopefully we can add closure to this thread.
I got the van back and I started again, checked codes (had a flat battery at some point so stored some codes for that.)
So I checked for pcm update, available so installed that.
Checked injector correction factors, number 1 was just lines so I removed the air box and got number 1 and compared the others to what was stored, all good, imputted and programmed them.
Checked throttle pedal, good, checked turbo (minor tests as waste gate turbo fitted) good.
Fuel pump learn.
Injector pilot learn.
All good.
I taped the injector connectors secure for good measure.
Then noticed the pcm loom had been stretched and was rubbing or catching on the sharp edge of the slam panel.
I ran the engine and when I touched the loom it would cut out, tried a few times and the same, so I taped it all up secure and ran the engine for 15 odd mins on tickover but initially I revved it quite hard to see if it would cut out, it didn't and was very smooth for the entire time we were talking.
The engine was initially hunting and I suspect that because if the shorting of the pcm loom it was learning some bad habits.
Anyway initial reports are that it seems right.
The loom was under the washer bottle and the pcm has been removed so either a front end damage previously or something else.
Fingers crossed it was that anyway.
