Injectors Help - Stranded in Holland

Postby Eoinom » Thu Dec 14, 2017 5:23 pm

Help!!!

Two of my injectors have failed and I'm stuck in Holland. The mechanic here cannot source the injectors as there is no part number on the old ones......

My transit is a 110 T300 - reg number EU07KXV

Where can I source replacement ones to be sent to Holland????

thanks

You could try PF Jones Diesel Specialists, on here, but I'm not sure if they'll send to Holland. Worth asking though

ihmo you need IDS to program the injector "codes" into the ECU. Every Ford dealer should have the tools for it.

I'm sure you can do injector learns with forscan & modified elm327?

Be as quick to order an elm off fleebay get it delivered to NL download forscan, have the injectors fitted and do the learns yourself? Or get the whizkid at the garage to do it for you?
Just sugesting options?

Thanks for all the help guys....

With the help of a German friend we found a Bosch Service Centre who'll take the old injectors out today while waiting for the parts to arrive from PF Jones. They reckon between 2 and 4 hours work including reprogramming the ECU as long as the old ones arn't seized in place.

I'm kind of glad I had the problems yesterday as the Bosch Centre told me reconditioned injectors cost €360 each here in Holland compared with €170 from Jones's -
plus I'll get a £30 rebate when I send the old ones back.

Quick Update:

Got the injectors fitted yesterday but now the engine starts and dies after 5 seconds.

From looking at other posts either the Bosch Garage didn't programme the new injectors properly, or there's air in the fuel system????? I asked the garage to prime the fuel system but they looked at me as if I have 2 heads.... My breakdown assist is insisting that I get it brought to a Ford Garage, but guess what - the local Ford dealer can't tell me when they can look at it.... so I'm still stranded.

Looks like I'll be hiring a car for Christmas (at the breakdown assist's expense) unless they can get it sorted tomorrow.

It will fire up without coding injectors. Coding and doing learns gets them working at there and the engines optimum.

If it's firing up then dieing? then I'd suspect fuel fault. Air in Fuel etc. But the PCM won't open injectors till it sees fuel pressure. So it must be getting some fuel. Before it take s mouth full of air.
But without codes and reading pressures when running it's hard to tell from a distance.
Others may have more suggestion.

It should run with or without the injectors being coded, so I would think it's air in the fuel lines causing the issue.

Thats what I was thinking. I asked the garage to fill the fuel filter and try starting it but they didn't / wouldn't - plus the old injectors were out for 24 hours before the new ones were fitted.

Just rang them again and its off to the Ford dealership in the morning.

So a Bosch service agent doesn't know how to bleed a fuel system?? :?

Tell me about it.... it started with the first mechanic trying to tell me a faulty EGR valve will cause diesel to leak from the top of the engine... now this... with both saying the Transit is too complicated for them.... no wonder it takes so long to get a Ford mechanic to look at a van....

Moral of the story? Next time limp the van to Germany (3km from where I broke down)!

Fingers crossed that Ford can sort it quickly otherwise its a long drive back to pick the van up in January
