Not sure the name of the gasket I need :-/ (induction/inlet)

Postby transitrob89 » Sat Dec 16, 2017 5:49 pm

Hi guys,

I'm hoping someone can help..

I have an induction leak and i'm pretty sure it is coming from the inlet (not a vacuum pipe) but I do not know the name of the gasket i'm looking for, hopefully my description is enough for someone.

My van is a mk6 2.3 petrol/lpg 2004. if I route my way from the air box.. air box, MAF, hose, throttle housing? then the inlet manifold? i'm in need of the gasket between the throttle housing? and inlet manifold?

Cheers!

So you need a throttle housing to inlet gasket. Don't overthink these things, you'll go mad :!:

Have you sprayed all induction areas with carb cleaner, if the revs rise you've found the origin of the leak.

Thanks Jumbo.

I have tried relating searches in Ebay in the hope I can order the gasket and that's another thing off my mind.

Yes that's how I've come to the conclusion it is that gasket. when sprayed where the gasket is the revs drastically change.

I've reused many a gasket by using instant gasket both sides.

I think that may be the plan as I've got some kicking about in the shed ... somewhere.
