Postby scas » Sat Jan 06, 2018 11:54 am

has anyone ever fitted a fuel filter housing off an early 125 with the electronic lift pump onto a vehicle with a normal filter housing. my filter housing needs changing so itd be handy when changing filters.

I haven't ( sorry ;) ). But Can't see why it wouldn't work, assuming the pump part # is the same, I.E., not specifically setup to receive the right pressure rather than "create" it itself. Some consideration as to when & when not the pump not runs may be useful as the PCM (not IGN) switches it normally on early 125's.

Are you are changing the filter head because it is letting air in ?

I was going to change mine, but throwing the yellow plastic diagnostic bulb away and sealing the hole with a bolt was a much cheaper way of solving the problem.. :D

04 115 di, the housing is letting a tiny bit of air in-not a big problem. im just being lazy, when i change fuel filters id like to just change it and let the lift pump fill it up like an old 125

Maybe fit a universal type inline fuel pump or facet type.

Sounds alot more hassles than filling a new filter once a year though before twisting it 40 degrees into place. Replace a fully filled new filter to a warmed engine usually works really well.
